
Concert Attire for Symphonic Band
Gentlemen
Black dress shoes (no tennis shoes or sandals- however, marching shoes are acceptable )
Black dress socks
White (no marks!) undershirt
Ladies
Plain black pumps or flats, and black hose (Legg's Jet Black). Heel should be 2 inches or less. Sandals/open-toed shoes are not acceptable; clogs are highly discouraged.
Provided (these items will be stored at school at all times)
Tuxedo jacket and pants, w hite wing collar tuxedo shirt, black bow tie, and black cummerbund for young men.
Black gown for ladies.
All gentlemen are expected to wash and iron their tuxedo shirts after every performance, and return them to school by the end of the week.
No jewelry may be worn during performance, unless ladies are provided with uniform pearls. Watches, earrings (except for pearl studs), rings, bracelets, necklaces, and anklets may not be worn during performance. These items should be left at home. No nail polish except natural color. Hair should be worn in a style away from the face.
DRY-CLEANING
After every performance, uniforms will need to be dry-cleaned. The Courtland Band Parents Association will take care of all dry-cleaning for the entire school year for $25.00. (This includes school concerts, All-County, All-District and All-Virginia Bands, Festival, etc.) Checks can be made out to CBPA, and must be received back with your course acknowledgement form.
PURCHASING AND CHECK-OUT
The Courtland Band Parents Association will provide an opportunity for parents and students to purchase concert attire items. Notice will be sent home and posted on the band's web site at a later date. Items will be stored at the school to avoid loss.
Should you decide to purchase your tuxedo or dress, you may check it out of the band room at any time, but Mr. Leonard must be given one week prior notice. If you have paid your dry-cleaning fee, it will be cleaned for you upon the uniform's return.
