Concert Attire Requirements

Jazz students will learn about the history of jazz, performance techniques, composition and basic jazz theory, ear training, and ensemble playing. This will be a performance based class and students will be expected to perform at various venues throughout the school year.

The Jazz Band plays at various engagements, including the "Senior Tea" event in the Spring at Courtland High School, the Winter and Spring Concerts, and at the District Jazz Band Festival. In the past, the group has also performed at Spotsylvania Mall and community functions.

Jazz Band auditions for the following school year will be held each Spring. Audition materials will be distributed well in advance of the audition dates.
