All-Virginia High School Band and Orchestra Information

To make one of the All-Virginia Bands or Orchestra is the highest honor a student musician can receive. Students are eligible to audition if they place in the top chairs of their District Band (auditions in December), or if they make Senior Regional Orchestra (auditions in September).

Auditions are held at James Madison University on February 23rd, 2008. The audition consists of a prepared piece, major and chromatic scales, and a sight-reading selection. The top few students in each section are then placed in the Orchestra, Symphonic Band, or Concert Band.

The 2008 All Virginia Band and Orchestra event will be held on April 3-5 at Harrisonburg High School.
